Understanding Your Application Status

UL does not publish a glossary of the exact labels shown on its portal. The stages below are the ones described in UL's 2027 application notice, 2027 undergraduate prospectus and admissions pages. The wording on your screen may be different.

StageWhat it meansWhat to do
📩 Application submitted (student number issued)UL's 2027 prospectus says that when you apply online "the system will automatically generate a reference / student number for you". Your application is on file, but no decision has been made yet.Keep your student number and PIN safe. Check that your R200 application fee was paid with your ID or passport number as the reference.
📄 Documents outstandingUL cannot finish assessing an application without the certified documents it asks for, such as your ID and your final Grade 11 results stamped by your school (or your NSC).Log in to the iEnabler, go to Academic Application, click Certificate Seen, choose the document type, then Load/View Document and save.
🔍 Under considerationYour application is being assessed against the programme's Admission Point Score (APS) and subject requirements. UL warns that meeting the minimum requirements "does not guarantee admission, as space in each programme is limited".Nothing to do but keep checking. UL tells applicants to "regularly monitor the application portal for status updates".
✅ Provisional acceptanceUL's prospectus uses this term for an offer that is not yet final (international students, for example, need "an official letter from UL confirming provisional acceptance" for their study permit).Read the conditions on your letter. If your place depends on your final Grade 12 results, upload them as soon as they are released in January 2027.
🎉 AdmittedYou have a place at the University of Limpopo for 2027 in the programme shown on your portal or admission letter.Save your letter, sort out NSFAS or other funding and residence, and register when UL opens 2027 registration (dates not yet published).
❌ Not admittedYou did not meet the requirements or were not selected because the programme was full. You can apply for two study choices, so check the outcome for each one.Look at other programmes and institutions. The government's Central Application Service (CAS), which replaced the old clearing house, shows where opportunities remain at universities and colleges (WhatsApp 081 308 4196).

UL Status Check FAQs

How do I check my UL application status?

Go to the University of Limpopo's ITS iEnabler (linked as "ITS iEnabler" at the bottom of ul.ac.za, or https://ulc-prod-webserver.ul.ac.za/pls/prodi41/w99pkg.mi_login). Under Registered Users choose Student, enter your student number and 5-digit PIN, and log in. Open Academic Application to see your application. UL tells applicants to "regularly monitor the application portal for status updates".

Can I check my UL status with my ID number?

The UL iEnabler login asks for your student number and PIN, not your ID number. UL's system generates a student number when you apply online. If you have lost it, use the "Forgot Student Number" button on the login screen, or contact the UL Call Centre on 015 268 3332 or enrolment@ul.ac.za.

When did University of Limpopo applications for 2027 close?

UL opened 2027 applications on 1 April 2026. MBChB (Medicine) and international applications closed on 30 July 2026, and all other qualifications, including the Master's in Clinical Psychology, closed on 30 September 2026.

Is UL accepting late applications for 2027?

UL had not announced a late-application window for 2027 on its website as of 12 October 2026. Only trust announcements on ul.ac.za, and do not pay anyone who promises to get you a late place.

When will UL release 2027 admission results?

UL has not published a date for admission decisions. Its 2027 application notice says applicants should regularly monitor the application portal for status updates. Offers that depend on final Grade 12 results can only be confirmed once the NSC results are released in January 2027.

I forgot my UL iEnabler PIN. What do I do?

On the iEnabler login screen, click "Forgot Pin" (or "Request A Pin" if you never set one). The PIN is 5 numbers and cannot start with a 0. If that does not work, contact the UL Call Centre on 015 268 3332 or enrolment@ul.ac.za.

Is Turfloop the same as the University of Limpopo?

Yes. UL says it is "popularly known as Turfloop". It was established in January 2005 through the merger of the University of the North and MEDUNSA, and has been a standalone university since January 2015, when MEDUNSA became Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University. The campus is in Mankweng, outside Polokwane.
