SRD R370 payment dates

SRD does not use the three-column social-grant calendar, and SASSA has not published fixed SRD dates for October 2026 or later months. Check each month on your official SRD status: an approved month shows a pay day once payment is processed. If no pay day appears, nothing has been paid yet.

The R370 grant is funded until 31 March 2027. Government says it is redesigning the SRD as a longer-term grant, but no replacement date has been announced as of 12 October 2026.

Deadline passed: 31 August 2026

Still holding a Gold Card?

Gold Cards stopped working after 31 August 2026 and Postbank said the deadline would not be extended. Your grant is still paid into your Postbank account; you just cannot draw it until you collect a free Postbank Black Card. Postbank said most card replacement sites would stay open for a period after the deadline. Take a valid South African ID or temporary ID, and dial *120*355# to find a site that is still operating.

If your grant is paid into your own bank account, or you already have a Black Card, you do not need to do anything.

If a payment is missing

  1. 1. Check the status

Confirm that the grant or monthly SRD decision is active or approved and read any action request. SASSA is running grant reviews, eLife certification and biometric enrolment, so respond if you were asked to come in.

  2. 2. Check the account

Use the balance service for the bank or Postbank account receiving the payment.

  3. 3. Contact the right team

SASSA payment-date questions

What are the next SASSA payment dates?

Under the official 2026/27 schedule, November 2026 grants are paid on Tuesday 3 November (Older Persons), Wednesday 4 November (Disability) and Thursday 5 November (Children’s grants). December 2026 dates are 2, 3 and 4 December, and January 2027 dates are 5, 6 and 7 January. October 2026 grants were paid on 2, 5 and 6 October.

How much is each SASSA grant in 2026?

From April 2026 the Older Persons, Disability and Care Dependency grants pay up to R2 400 a month, the War Veterans Grant R2 420, and the Child Support Grant and Grant-in-Aid R580. The Foster Child Grant rose to R1 290 in April and the 2026 Budget set a further step to R1 300 from October 2026. The SRD grant stays at R370.

Does this schedule include SRD R370 payments?

No. SASSA has not published fixed SRD R370 dates for October 2026 or later months. Payment is individual: check the month on the official SRD status page at srd.sassa.gov.za with your ID and the cellphone number linked to your application. SASSA’s status guide says an approved month shows a pay day once payment is processed; if no pay day is shown, nothing has been paid yet.

Why is my grant not available on the scheduled date?

First check the application or grant status and the receiving account. If SASSA has asked you to come in for a grant review, eLife (proof of life) certification or biometric enrolment, deal with that promptly. For a SASSA grant query call 0800 60 10 11 or visit a SASSA office. For a Postbank card, PIN or account issue call Postbank on 0800 53 54 55.

What happens if I still have a SASSA Gold Card?

Gold Cards stopped working after the 31 August 2026 deadline, which Postbank said would not be extended. The grant itself is not cancelled: it is still paid into your Postbank account, and you can use it again once you collect a free Postbank Black Card. Take a valid South African ID or temporary ID to a card replacement site (dial *120*355# to find one); you do not need to re-register with SASSA.

How do I check whether the money is in my account?

Use your receiving bank’s balance service. For an eligible Postbank account, Postbank supports an SMS with BAL plus the last four digits of the account number—not the card number—to 32302 from the registered cellphone.

Source note: Dates and April 2026 amounts are transcribed from SASSA’s 2026/27 schedule as published by the Department of Social Development after National Treasury approved it on 20 March 2026. Always follow a newer official SASSA notice if one is issued after this page’s 12 October 2026 verification date.
