Impala Platinum (Implats) Bursary Programme

   Obtain the official Implats bursary application form, published annually as a PDF on the Implats website (working-at-implats.php careers/bursary page)

   Complete the application form in full and attach all required supporting documents

   Submit your application by email to bursaries@implats.co.za or by post to: Impala Rustenburg, Bursary Department, PO Box 5683, Rustenburg, 0300

   Ensure your application reaches Implats on or before 30 September (no late applications are considered)

   If shortlisted, attend an interview at the Impala Platinum Rustenburg operation

   Successful candidates are notified and sign a bursary agreement before the start of the academic year

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the deadline for the Implats bursary?

Applications close on 30 September each year (30 September 2026 for the 2026 academic cycle). No late applications are considered, so submit your completed form and supporting documents well before the closing date.

What marks do I need to qualify?

You need a minimum of 60% (Rating Code 5, a C symbol) in English, Mathematics and Physical Science. Note that pure Mathematics is required - Mathematical Literacy is not accepted.

Do I have to work for Implats after I graduate?

Yes. Bursars complete structured vacation work at an Implats operation each year of study and are obliged to work for Implats after graduating for a period equal to the duration of the funding they received.
