SIOC Community Development Trust (SIOC-CDT) (administered by Dux PD)
The SIOC Community Development Trust (SIOC-CDT), established through Sishen Iron Ore Company (Kumba Iron Ore), offers a comprehensive bursary to young people who live in or come from its beneficiary communities: Gamagara, Ga-Segonyana, Joe Morolong and Tsantsabane in the Northern Cape and Thabazimbi in Limpopo. The bursary covers registration and tuition, accommodation, prescribed study material, a once-off laptop, a monthly stipend and assistive devices for students with disabilities, with priority fields in agriculture, health, education, law, tourism, business, engineering and IT. Applications for the 2027 academic year are open and close at midday on 30 November 2026; the selection process is run by Dux PD.

Department of Basic Education
Funza Lushaka funds selected students completing an initial teaching qualification in priority subjects at an accredited public university. Applications for 2027 opened on 1 October 2026 and close on 31 January 2027 for new applicants (30 November 2026 for returning bursars). Recipients must teach at a public school for one year for every year funded.
